We are extremely pleased to announce that our Shur-Co® of Vermillion location is Now Open for Business! This project has been in the works for several months and we are excited to get our team going with sales, service and distribution. In conjunction with this location opening, we will be closing our installation service at the Outlet Store in Yankton and the Shur-Co® of Iowa location in Fort Dodge, consolidating their operations to Vermillion.

Our Vermillion service center is managed by Bill Nelson, our current Midwest Regional Sales Manager. He has been with Shur-Co® since 2003 and has been a fixture at farm shows all over the Midwest and beyond. His territory has changed several times over the years and his familiarity with dealers and customers from the Midwest to the Great Lakes will help facilitate the transition of customers from currently being serviced by our Fort Dodge location and our Outlet Store. Bill will continue in his sales role for the Midwest Region while we further develop plans for additional sales coverage in 2021.

While the Vermillion location is technically starting from scratch, the team is not lacking from experience. Tom Tacke, our Yankton Factory Outlet Store Manager since 1998 when it first opened its doors, will be joining Nelson as the Shop Supervisor, overseeing tarp production, the service bays and shipping. Tom is well-known in the Yankton-Vermillion area and will bring the same high level of personalized service those area customers they have been accustomed to receiving in Yankton.

Our accomplished Shur-Co® of Iowa team has provided a high level of customer support and service to customers in the Fort Dodge area since 1976, dating back to the days it was known as Precision Sewing and prior to becoming part of Shur-Co® in 1997. We will never be able replace the talented team we have in Fort Dodge but will always be grateful for the role they have had in the success of Shur-Co® during that time.

With our operations at the Outlet Store and at our Fort Dodge location winding down in early December, the startup in Vermillion has been accelerated. We recognize that many of our customers have come to rely on product availability and short lead times that both locations. With the larger location in Vermillion, however, we intend to elevate that high level of service even further as we boost our tarp fabrication capacity and increase our warehouse space for additional product distribution capability.  Additionally, we will have two fully staffed service bays for installations of Shur-Co® and ShurTite™ products.

We will continue offering customer pick-up of orders in Yankton that have been ordered in advance and prepaid. This option will also be available for those customers with established terms. The consolidation of operations from Sioux Falls (April closure), Fort Dodge and our Yankton Outlet Store (December transitions) to Vermillion is very exciting because we are able to expand our service and production capabilities. At the same time it has resulted in a lot of changes both internally and for our customers. We recognize these changes do not impact all customers in the same manner, but it remains our mission to always provide a high level of customer service to every single one of our customers regardless of which Shur-Co® location is providing that service.

Conveniently located just 5 minutes from the I-29 exit to Vermillion along South Dakota Highway 50, Shur-Co® of Vermillion provides walk-in sales support, product distribution, installation services and tarp fabrication for our Shur-Co®, ShurTite™ and Donovan® brands. It will also be a key sales and distribution point for our full line of cargo control products.
